To avoid cliche. Does cliche include just things in the present that are overused? Or does it spread to include the cliche of days past? For example in the 60s it was a cool thing to say "dope" (not saying it was but just a random word) it wouldnt be cliche today right? Because everyone would try to avoid being too cliche the usage of dope would fall in a spiraling descent into extinction (until people "discover" it and it becomes vintage). It seems "cliche" is kind of a perpetually changing state that grasps the overused of the present and discards the over-abused things of the past. Cliche is really also dependent on the person. Like for me hearing a song with the lyric "i am yours, you are mine" would automatically register as a cliched line.. whereas someone who has been riding horses in mongolia for 12 years would not simply because they had not been exposed to it as much as I would have been. But whatever. That whole tangent was sparked by the fact that I did not want to say "sorry for taking so long to blog..ive been busy" because I pretty much say that everytime  but whatever.. honesty labeled as cliche....So today marked the first day of school. I put up the car jar (big accomplishment, lol spread the love of yankee candles mandarin cranberry). I am not particularly fond of the first day of school. It's nice to see everyone and all, but 1. All the teachers are really strict with rules 2. All the work seems overwhelming because I'm just not used to it after 2 months of not doing much work 3. It's nice to see everyone but it just seems a little awkward because I havent seen some of them for 2 months and all of a sudden it's like trying to catch up with a bunch of different people. Leaves one feeling stretched. I didn't get too much homework tonight. I dont really think homework on the first day is really a wise idea. It kind of leaves the students feeling slightly overwhelmed, at least that's my personal preference. But whatever. My mandarin class tried to persuade our teacher to take us to starbucks during class. Twas fruitless. It feels really cramped and boring to write about school lol. SO ill talk about flyleaf. I got their EP in the states this summer. Yep "it's the hottest summmer record out" to quote john reuben..but whatever yeah thanks to everyone for leaving comments/messages and all the like..makes things interesting...

great band- deepspace5....free downloads on their site (lol whenever i talk about them it feels like people are thinking "what a stupid name") but whatever www.deepspace5.com

"burning styrofoam in the driveway"

random (lol unlike everything else which has had a point *rolls eyes)- i used "but whatever" like 4 times in the space of a few words (i didnt count)...im thinking that wont fly well with AP graders on the exam...

Wow Tim, that's very interesting... But gj with candles. I used them for my science fair project. And in response to criticizing (spelling?) your writing. Don't subject change so much! You're all oer the place! ;)

Haven't made a comment like this in a while. It is quite stupefying to see the elaboration of your lack of willingness to talk about not blogging due to business, instead choosing to expound on the depths, or lack of, cliches.

It's cool you mentioned riding horses in Mongolia, my dad made friends with an American guy who has been doing that for the past 12 years or so and evangelizing to the nomadic and tribal Mongolians who live on the outskirts. Very neat, maybe you can be his friend too and do that. It might very well be your vocation.

Anyway, don't think I'm going to let you off the Norma Jean hook, they've got some more good stuff your ears need to absorb.

:D
